Calzony

Did you grow up eating a whole heck of a lot of pizza as a kid, and even as a teen, and even now as an adult? I sure did. Pizza was like a common dictionary word in our family, and there is nothing wrong with that. The same goes with calzones, as a matter of fact — we had pizza at least twice a week, every week, and we certainly threw a calzone or two in there as well.

But did you know that Little Caesar’s made a best – of – both – worlds sort of deal with what it sold, just last August ( August of 2021 ) ? It sold a little something on the menu known as the one and only Crazy Calzony. And this Calzony kicks butt, I might dare to tell ya. If you have tasted a bite already, then you do not need to read any further and you already know for yourself that was a nice little meal. My whole family has tried it more than once already, and we would drop everything we are doing on a friday night, in a heart – beat ( don’t have to tell us twice, he he he heh heh ) to drive out to Little Caesar’s and pick it up…. if they still sold it. Thankfully, I have a Little Caesar’s location just two blocks away from where I live, he he he heh heh. Lucky am I, lucky am I….

However, our location no longer has it, and we are not sure when the Calzony will be back at that location, or at any. So fingers crossed. We are sure it will pop up again at certain locations, once more…. and here’s hoping….

Now, then, this pizza – calzone was sort of shaped just like a cross or a T. It had got the pepperoni right in the top – middle of it, which people loved to additionally sprinkle – layer with cheese, but it had plenty of that on it already, just under the pepperoni ( and my family and I were truly notorious for over – cheesing our Calzony to death, he he he heh… you only live once ) . It was also sold as a cheese – only version…. wicked, right? It means you could have the option of not getting pepperoni or even other toppings on the inside or outside of it, if you wanted to just do cheese instead. Options, options, options, as I always say….

Jeff Klein, CMO at Little Caesar’s, even expressed his pride in this new creation and said that it had taken many months of hard work to come up with. It was truly special. He himself even had a bite and was thrilled to talk further on it…
